Question by anonymous: What are some things that would go in a “camping essentials kit”?
My close friend has never been camping, and we are going to go camping together with our families. I want to make her a “camping essentials kit” for her birthday including all the great camping things like s’mores supplies, camp-style jiffy pop, etc. What else should I include? They can be funny or useful. Thanks

In a plastic bag put a lighter, candle, and a whistle. If she got lost they would save her life.

Me and my family go camping alot! And we love to drink coffee around the campfire with our smores. So maybe some instant pks of coffee or we like the international delights they come in flavors and you just add a couple of spoons to a cup of hot water. And definetly toilet paper. I am not sure if you are using tents or a rv but TP is essential either way. I also like to take bubbles. Yes bubbles I have 3 small kids and they love to blow bubbles while were camping they blow a bunch at a time and watch them fill the sky. One more thing a first aid kit. One time my husband was fishing and fell on a rock he cut is arm and I had NO band-aids I thought I packed the first aid kit but apparently forgot. This is a must. Good Luck and have fun!

Some useful items are waterproof matches so you can light a fire in the rain or damp conditions, they actually make contraptions that you can use to make s’mores with so it is easier over a fire, first aid (antibiotic cream like Neosporin, band-aids, ibuprofen, ice packs that you break to activate, ace bandage, etc.), moist towlette packs to clean up on the go, sun block (depending on where you are going), if you are hiking throw a cheap compass in the kit with a map of where you will be hiking.

Good luck…I grew up in Colorado so I have been camping my whole life and it is good to be prepared. Have a great trip!
